How did you get started in home remodeling?

My father was my inspiration because he was a “jack of all trades”. I grew up watching him remodel my childhood home in Chicago & being his “little apprentice”.  After my father’s passing at age 16, I took over finishing the projects he started at the house & began doing handyman work for family & friends because I enjoyed working with my hands.

In my early 20’s, I worked as an ornamental ironworker. After 8 years working in the trade & refining my skills by renovating my own home, I turned what was once a hobby into a business.

What unique attributes do you bring to your clients?

  I have been described by a former client as a “boutique contractor”. Due to years of hands on experience in carpentry, painting, electrical & plumbing work, I am skilled at coordinating & managing the professionals necessary to complete a variety of projects. I am a reliable source for all construction needs & provide dependable tradespeople who exhibit quality workmanship & deliver exceptional customer service. I am committed to meeting or exceeding the client’s construction expectations.

What approach do you take when working with clients?

I act as project manager & am personally involved with the client from the beginning to the end of the project. The process begins with a phone consultation to discuss the project at hand. An on site visit will be scheduled to review scope of work & budget. A team of necessary professionals will be assembled to provide a bid proposal & would be presented to the client for approval.

How has your business transformed over the years?

Initially, the business focused on various handyman projects refreshing kitchens & bathrooms. We have progressed to more complex projects including small room additions & full gut renovations of single family homes, condominiums & townhomes. My greatest satisfaction is being part of a project from start to finish & seeing the client enjoy the finished project.

What do you like to do with your free time?

I enjoy furniture refinishing, wrenching on cars & spending time with my family. As of late, I have been experimenting in the kitchen with new recipes and sharpening my skills as a home cook.
